MTextReader is a text file (.txt) reader for Java-enabled cellphones, it has the following Features
- An easy-to-use text file browser
- Bookshelf, a function similar to bookmark, allows you store your current progress and/or continue reading from previous stored progress
- Several built-in color schemes
- You can choose font sizes, encodings and languages*
- Backlight can be set to ON or auto**
- Real time clock, you can know the time when you are reading
- “Jump to” lets you directly go to a specified part of a text
- Pixel-level autoscroll, speed can be adjusted
* not all encodings are supported by all phones, using an unsupported encoding may cause errors; currently two languages are supported: English and Chinese
** backlight function may not work on certain kinds of devicesMTextReader was written in Java and it uses File Connection API to browse phone memory for text files, so only Java-phones with File Connection support can run MTextReader. Below are phone models that have been tested using emulators and/or real phones:
