How to Use OTG on Infinix Hot 10 (USB On the Go)

The Infinix Hot 10 is one of the smartphones targeting the lower-middle segment. And fortunately, it is equipped with a USB On the Go (OTG) connection, making it easier for us to connect a flash drive or gamepad to the phone.

The Infinix Hot 10 comes as an upgrade from the Infinix Hot 10 Play and offers an improved processor, design, camera and many other excellent features.

Inifnix equipped it with a 6.78-inch HD display and a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels. The phone delivers a great gaming experience with MediaTek Helio G70 HyperEngine Power.

In addition to attractive specifications, there are a number of other features offered to users, one of which is USB On-The-Go or commonly abbreviated as USB OTG.

We cannot avoid the use of OTG sometimes. There will be times when we need to use it to connect a gamepad, thumb drive, mouse, keyboard or printer.

How to Activate USB OTG on Infinix Hot 10

The OTG feature is already available on the Infinix Hot 10, so we no longer need to use a PC if we want to transfer files to a flash drive. In addition, we can also utilize the OTG feature for other things such as typing with a keyboard or playing games using a Controller USB.

To connect a USB device to the Infinix Phone, we need a connector or adapter. However, nowadays, many flash drives sold are already built-in OTG, so we no longer need to use OTG adapters.

However, you must make sure to buy OTG that matches the type of USB port of your Infinix phone, if the port is type C, you must use type C OTG as well.

Enabling OTG Feature

The first step before connecting otg, you must first enable it from your Infinix settings menu. Here are the steps to enable OTG on Infinix phones.

  1. First step, open the Settings app.
  2. Then select More Connections.
  3. And after that, activate the OTG feature.
  4. Now, you can connect the OTG cable to your phone.

Here we use Infinix Hot 10 while for Infinix Hot 10 Play, please check the settings as above if there is an OTG option it means it is supported but if not, it means it is not supported yet.

Connect the Flash Drive to the USB Port

In the next step, you can connect the flash drive to your phone if you want to move files from or to your Infinix phone. See how to use an OTG pendrive below.

Plug the flash drive into the USB port of the smartphone or if your flash drive does not support OTG, you can use adapters that are widely sold in online stores.

After the pendrive is connected, please open the File Manager application then scroll down and then select All Files then tap OTG.

Now you can move files from flash drive to phone or from phone to flash drive.

Unmount OTG Flash Drive Safely

When you’re done transferring files, and you want to unplug the flash drive from your phone, you’ll need to unmount it first.

For how to unmount, please go to Settings> More Connections> then disable OTG.

In addition, it can also be done through the notification panel, just swipe the screen from top to bottom then tap unmount. That’s how to activate and use USB OTG on Infinix Hot 10.
