AdGuard

AdGuard is an ad blocker app. AdGuard has two variants, namely AdGuard for Android and AdGuard Content. For the first variant, AdGuard can block all ads that appear in browsers, apps, and games.
AdGuard for Android is also available for non-rooted devices. Unfortunately, AdGuard for Android cannot be downloaded on the Google Play Store. You have to download it on the official AdGuard page.
While the AdGuard Content Blocker variant can only block ads on Yandex Browser and Samsung Internet Browser. AdGuard Content Blocker doesn’t have to be downloaded on the official page because it’s available for free on the Google Play Store.
AdAway and Adblock Plus
Adblock Plus has almost the same functionality as AdGuar for Android. However, now Adblock Plus has undergone a functional change and is more similar to AdGuard Content Blocker.
Adblock itself does not explain further about this function change. Allegedly this change was caused by a non-compliance with Google’s provisions.
Adblock Plus has two variants with the same function, namely blocking ads only in certain apps. The two variants are Adblock Plus for Samsung Internet – Browse Safe and Ablock Browser for Android.
The first variant is used for the Samsung Internet browser, while the second variant is for a standalone browser from Adblock. Adblock Plus for Samsung Internet – Browse Safe can be downloaded for free on the Google Play Store and Ablock Browser for Android is downloaded on the official website.
For the AdAway app, it’s not recommended although it’s powerful enough to block ads across a variety of apps, games, and browsers. AdAway is specifically for rooted devices. While this rooted action can void the device’s warranty.
The appearance of advertisements in apps, games, and browsers actually indirectly provides support for developers to continue working.
However, it is not uncommon for these ads to annoy users. As a result, users often complain about this and look for ways to block ads on their phones.
