The Samsung Galaxy M31 is a mid-range smartphone from one of the companies from South Korea. It has an Exynos 9611 processor, an awesome display, a monster battery with long battery life and most importantly, attractive front and rear cameras.
Samsung has improved the camera quality on the Galaxy M31 over the previous Galaxy M30 series. On the back of the phone, you’ll find a 64MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP f/2.2 Ultra Wide Angle lens, a 5MP f/2.4 aperture Macro camera for close-up shots while a 5MP f/2.2 aperture Depth sensor is capable of taking portrait shots with live focus.
The Galaxy M31 has video capabilities with up to 4K recording and supports slow-mo, Hyperlapse and super-steady modes. It also has a night mode for amazing low-light photography. The 32MP front camera also supports 4K video recording and slow-mo selfies.
The phone’s camera specifications are certainly an attraction for photography lovers. Of course, nothing is perfect, some users will find its capabilities in certain conditions still disappointing.
The solution to fixing Samsung M31’s shortcomings in terms of camera is to use an additional application. Usually people will recommend using a camera app called Google Camera.

Table of Contents
Samsung Camera is a built-in camera application that is usually installed on Galaxy phones. This application is classified as having quite a lot of features and is fast in taking photos.
In the Samsung camera settings menu, we can change certain values to control the light level, ratio, chronometer, filters, and so on.
You will also find various other capabilities such as allowing users to use the rear and front cameras of the smartphone to take photos or record videos.
Meanwhile, GCAM is the Google Camera app built into Pixel phones that has been modified so that it can be used on Samsung phones. From the looks of these two camera apps, there isn’t much difference.
The main difference between Samsung’s built-in camera and Gcam lies in the features embedded. Which Gcam is a little more complete and the photo quality looks better especially in low light locations.
Even so, in terms of the stability of the Samsung camera application, it is still better. This is because Google Camera is more optimal on phones with Snapdragon chipsets. While this Galaxy M31 uses Exynos.
